The key word in homesteading is self-sufficiency.  No matter where you are on your journey in homesteading, it all requires starting small and then scaling up as needed on the things that work.  So whether you’re on your piece of land and building your infrastructures or in town in a home or apartment, you can start where you are.

Early in our homeschooling journey we are naturally more rigid and concerned with not living up to our own and others expectations.  We wonder if we are qualified to teach our kids. 

We like to think that the choices we are making now is only linked to now.  But in reality, it is linked to the next hour, the next day, week, and so on.  Not only that, usually by looking at our yesterdays, we can very clearly visualize our tomorrows.

Learning to take notice of the red flags waving around us takes effort, intention, practice and humbleness.  It’s easy to think that only the younger generations fall prey to this illusion, but in reality it can follow us over the years if we don’t learn and grow wiser over time. 

The need for real, honest, and deep connection is in us all.  When we stop stifling it out of fear, laziness, and distrust, our minds and hearts will open to new levels of connection with other people.
